Maddi and Bobby’s Barnfield Wedding
Some weddings are just pure joy from start to finish — Maddi and Bobby’s day at Barnfield Weddings in Sible Hedingham, Essex, was exactly that. Their vision was simple: a chilled, festival-style celebration surrounded by friends, family, and their dog, Hooper. They weren’t after staged, stiff portraits — they wanted real moments, laughter, music, and connection, and that’s exactly what they got.
Maddi spent the morning getting ready at home with her bridesmaids — no stylists, no rush, just relaxed laughter and warm morning sunlight. The flowers and hair details were gorgeous. Warm autumnal tones matched the venue and the vibe. She did her own hair and makeup too, perfectly fitting the free-spirited vibe of the day.
By 3pm, the woodland ceremony was full of smiles, a few happy tears, and of course, Hooper keeping a watchful eye. He was in charge of the rings, and his delivery was erratic, hilarious and fun to witness! He wasn’t sure about me at first, but by the end of the day, he had accepted me, though still barked at my camera!
As the afternoon sun bathed the venue in golden light, the entire space seemed to glow with boho warmth and freespirited energy. Every shadow, every sunbeam dancing through the trees made for the perfect backdrop — effortless, natural, and full of character. It was a joy to capture, and the warm backlight is every wedding photographers dream to work with.
Evening celebrations were alive with music and laughter. Bobby’s dad fired up an enormous BBQ, Georgina White provided live tunes, and The LettuceHeads delivered an epic live set going late into the evening.
This wedding wasn’t about perfection or posed shots. It was about people, light, and fleeting moments — the kind of images that tell the story of a day as it really happened. Whether it was laughter over a shared joke, dancing under the tipi lights, or Hooper stealing the spotlight, every shot was about capturing life as it unfolded naturally.
