Danielle and Ben’s Norwich Castle and Cinema City Wedding
Danielle and Ben’s day had everything I love about weddings in Norwich — a bit of chaos, a lot of laughter, and plenty of heart.
The morning started at The Maids Head Hotel, full of calm nerves, good coffee, and a few last-minute tie fixes. From there, it was a short walk to Norwich Castle, where the sunshine streamed through the windows just right — warm and golden, perfect for the kind of photos that tell stories all on their own.
Their ceremony was beautiful. No fuss, no staging — just real emotion and two people completely in the moment. Afterwards, we wandered through Norwich’s cobbled streets to Cinema City for the reception. If you know it, you’ll understand why it’s one of my favourite venues: full of character, tucked away in the middle of the city, and buzzing with that post-wedding energy.
Danielle and Ben had said beforehand, “We’d love a documentary approach. Sure, a few posed shots, but mostly candid moments please.” That’s exactly how I like to shoot — authentic, creative documentary wedding photography that captures the day as it really felt. No big productions, no forced grins — just the good stuff.
The next day, Danielle dropped me this message:
“I wanted to drop an email to firstly say thank you for being a legend last Saturday with our photos. Ben and I both had the best time and are looking forward to seeing the photos. I can’t imagine it’s the easiest job when our relatives automatically act differently when they see a camera, but we’re hoping there aren’t too many awkward side-eye photos!”
And when I sent over the sneak peeks, Ben replied:
“These are phenomenal, thank you so much!”
That’s what it’s all about for me — genuine moments, captured honestly.
If you’re planning your wedding, and want your photos to feel like your day, not a photoshoot — get in touch. I’d love to tell your story.
