Alisa and Sam’s Pentney Abbey Wedding
I love Pentney Abbey. ❤️
Every wedding at Pentney Abbey in King’s Lynn has its own kind of magic, but Alisa and Sam’s day was pure joy from start to finish. It was one of those weddings that had everything — laughter, emotion, unpredictable weather, two very dapper dachshunds, and one unforgettable party that rocked the barn late into the night.
The morning started in the historic bridal suite, where nerves turned to excitement as the bride stepped into her stunning gown. The soft light pouring through the stone windows made for some seriously cinematic moments — the kind of setting that reminds you why Pentney Abbey is one of Norfolk’s most beautiful wedding venues.
Outside, guests gathered in the courtyard, umbrellas in hand as a light rain began to fall just in time for the ceremony. But nothing could dampen the mood — especially when the couple’s two miniature dachshunds made their grand entrance, trotting and sprinting down the aisle with the rings in perfectly tailored bow ties. It was the kind of personal touch that had everyone smiling through the rain.
After heartfelt vows, speeches and a few joyful tears, the newlyweds braved the elements for portraits among the abbey’s ruins. The contrast of ancient stone and fresh wildflowers made every shot feel timeless. Later, as the rain gave way to golden sunlight, we dashed into the fields for those all-important sunset portraits — glowing skies, laughter, and that perfect post-wedding calm.
The reception in the barn was an explosion of color and energy. Guests danced under a ceiling of fairy lights and streamers, the band kept everyone on their feet, whilst a sparkler line lit up the night!
Everything about this Pentney Abbey wedding felt genuine and full of life — a perfect reflection of the couple themselves. From the emotional ceremony to the wild dance floor moments, it was a reminder that even a bit of rain can’t stop love, laughter, and one hell of a good party.
